This was a 3D Virtual Reality game created by Trick 3D for client Delta Air Lines, Inc. for mobile devices using the Samsung Gear VR. The goal of the project was to create a high-quality, particle-driven arcade experience that was optimized for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 phone. In the game, the user flies through a randomly-generated cloudscape collecting coins and flying through colored beacons of light which, in turn, allowed the user to paint the clouds that color wherever they flew.
For this project, I was responsible for the random scene generation, custom shaders and functionality for the beacons and clouds, cloud painting functionality, rendering and saving the user-generated artwork, beacon and some cloud particle effects, gameplay flow logic, and optimizing the various shaders and effects to improve VR performance on the Galaxy Note 4.
